a note from lauren….

For many years I’ve had the great pleasure of being ‘the first voice you hear when you call The Scott Wilder Show.’ I’ve spoken with hundreds of people who’ve called the show to discuss a myriad of topics with Scott. They come from all walks of life…different income levels, different faiths, different educational backgrounds. They bring vastly different life experiences that they’ve gained from growing up, seemingly, in every corner of the world. What a fascinating community we’ve formed!

When I scan the recesses of my memory for the best shows we’ve ever done, I always come back to the shows that we’ve done on this day every year. As long time listeners of the Scott Wilder Show know, Scott sets aside this day…Martin Luther King, Jr. Day…as a day to discuss the state of race relations in America (see below).

The point isn’t to discuss what some government figures in a lengthy study conducted by some federally funded researchers conclude about how we fare in our great society based on the color of our skin. It’s much more interesting than that. We want to know what you think. What have your experiences been in the workplace, in school, in church, in the grocery store. Where have we been? Where are we headed? How do you see us getting there?

Join us today. We can’t wait to hear what you’re thinking.
